Am I The April Fool?

By

I have a weird relationship with April Fool’s Day. In some ways, I love it. I have a lot of great memories of it, and it reminds me of my childhood. I used to scheme with my mom in the months leading up to this day, shopping at Five Below’s prank section for unrippable toilet paper, shock gum, and more. Also, my first-grade crush and bat mitzvah partner was born on this day, which added another layer of fun to it.

But, here’s the thing. I might be a little gullible? And a lot anxious. So, this day can kinda suck, at least online. Sometimes, it’s a brand posting a product launch that I think would be incredible (pickle flavored liquid IV was one I saw yesterday)… but it’s not real. Other times, someone makes an ill-advised joke about a celeb dying, or a fake Bravo scandal (the West x Amanda one is real though, trust). Those are less fun.

I’m full of anxiously productive energy today, so here’s a go to guide on everything April Fool’s.

The Good:

  1. Fun, lighthearted, non-people injuring pranks. IE:
    • Un-rippable toilet paper, shock gum, fake poo on the carpet
    • Turning everything upside down in the bathroom, with a d20 set to nat1.
    • Idk, tying all of someone’s shoes together?

The Not So Good:

  1. Anything that accidentally could physically harm someone
    • Just no

The Things To Absolutely Not Joke About:

  1. Major life changes
    • Death, pregnancy, job loss or offers, etc.

AND THAT’S MY OPINION.
