I’m BAAAAACK!

Did you know that it’s possible for a computer to snap in half?

Well, I didn’t but unfortunately, I found out the hard way. See the photo above? Yeah. That’s my laptop, as of… maybe a month ago? Absolute disaster. I had to (and shoutout to my mom for the assist) TAPE IT INTO A COSTCO BOX so it was safe enough to drive the hour fifteen to my place.

So, I get the laptop (can it even still be called a laptop?) home, bring it to my guy for the THIRD TIME and he gets me all fixed. Except for the part where it takes 3 weeks. Not his fault, but it was rough. Between my partner Ryan’s work trip, an international bachelorette party, and the general chaos of life, I haven’t had much time for writing, but having no computer surely put a damper on things. How could it not?

So here’s what I’ve been up to in the past couple of weeks while my computer was DOA.

  • I started knitting?
    • I bought the pattern forever ago and finally picked it up but goodness, how much yarn it takes to make one sweater???? I may never financially recover.
  • Freelancing!
    • Or at least, trying to. I joined a copywriter collective called Word Tonic right before this, so I’m getting used to how it all works now that I am back online.
  • Doomscrolling.
    • SO much doomscrolling. It’s a real problem. ANYWAY…
  • Reality TV!
    • I have been watching Survivor 50 so I can chat about it with my fam (and so that I work out at least once a week, I watch it on the treadmill) but the real tea is I finally started VPR12. It’s…something! Wild. ALSO Summer House is back and I finally caught up thank goodness, because this season is SO GOOD. I was excited about The Bachelorette coming, but major yikes and never mind there. Oh, and I watched The Traitors, which brings me to the next activity…
  • I applied for The Traitors…
    • At the behest of my friend Sarah and also bc I thought it would be funny. It was, even if I submitted on the last day possible.
  • Book Stuff
    • Goodreads released a DNF shelf (did not finish) so I had to transfer my diy one to theirs, which reminded me that I was behind on books for the year. I just finished The Thursday Murder Club which was INCREDIBLE and Tourist Season. Actually stay tuned on Tourist Season… I might make a post about illustrated covers shortly.
  • Thinking About Halloween
    • As always. But seriously, once the people at Abracadabra NYC reached out to me about marketing, I was like hmmmmm I should get on that. IDK what I shall be yet, but I want to freaking crush it this year.

I’ve just realized I’m speaking like I experienced a war, and I might be being a little dramatic, but forgive me, I’ve been running low on my ADHD prescription and it has been SHOWING in my mood. Luckily that’s all settled now, much like my technology issues for now.

More to come soon, but for now, I need to buy butter and some new water filters for my sink (and maybe my shower, cause the hard water is insane here.) and catch up on some audiobooks.

OMG BY THE WAYYYYYYYY I am officially a Libro.FM affiliate! Incredible news I am so excited about so please, support the blog and also your local indie bookshop and check them out. You can buy audio and it supports the store of your choice. And it’s NOT Amazon, so a win is a win.

Love ya!
